In a society that is paralyzed by the idea of security, people suffering from a sheep syndrome; a person with a different perspective is considered crazy at first. But again, if the perspective is a hit s/he will be followed by many. While this seems valid as one cannot simply follow an idea just because someone utters it and the thought to be followed needs to be well researched and be verified but the more pressing concern here is do we as an individual have an original perspective? Or, are we just following what the mass is, are we just speaking out other people’s perspective masking it as our own? Is having a perspective good or bad? The debate goes on.
Out of many, “being rich” is what grabs everybody’s eyes and minds. In the present scenario, everyone wants quick money. We all are familiar with those entrepreneurial quotes online, with pictures of stashed money or/and, a supercar, a jet and probably a model in the background. This has done more harm than good as people viewing it are grasping the bling and not the essence. This has masked the struggle, pain, determination, passion that is needed to fuel that dream of yours and has been seeding the mind with hopes that if you are even remotely associated with the term “start-up” you are going to BE RICH. While naivety its bliss to have, it is also equally dangerous leading many folks to make that leap based on greed and not the need. The need to overcome your limitation on anything should be placed before greed. Greed can never be fulfilled and the sooner you realize it, the better it is. Never become inclined towards somebody’s perspective just to fulfill that vague desire of yours; if you want to associate with it do your homework on it; does it really match with your values and beliefs? Ask questions and ask a lot but seek for answers too.
As the days are progressing this “rich” is being narrowed down to a single metric “money”. While one meaning of rich literally means “having a great amount of wealth” we consciously or unconsciously tend to overlook the other meaning of it which is “existing in plentiful quantities”. Well, the existence of what, is for you and me to decide; it can be knowledge, happiness, fulfillment, health and the list goes on. Often times we get happy with the thought of being rich and this rich is money but very few of us find the joy that we have accumulated knowledge, good health or completed something that has given us an immense sense of fulfillment.
The focus is blurred and we are lost.
Change in perspective is needed and its time that we become multi-perspective individual and not collective individuals with a single perspective. Being rich should mean rich in knowledge, rich in health and not just rich in terms of wealth. Having your original perspective not only liberates you from the mass but in the process makes you a keen observer and nurtures your curiosity as you are now starting to question and seek answers rather than listening to other’s version of answers and repeating it. The deeper you go, the messier it gets but there is light at the end of this all, I hope as I am too spiraling in this tunnel trying to find my perspectives while questioning others. And, don’t take my word for it as that would mean the death of this artisode. Questioning should become your become instinct; period (rational questioning of course). But again, don’t take my word for this either. Having abundant perspectives might be or might not be a good thing. Will keep you posted as I am still trying to untangle these tentacles of thoughts wrapped around me.
Till the next artisode, I bid you farewell my friend.
