His Majesty Late King Birendra,
This is not the first time you have come into my thought. You are captivating my hypothalamus, time and often these days. Because of that, I am impelled to write. I thought writing one to you will liberate me and my mind to peace from this chaos, I am going through lately. I never could really believe that time would be this short. And you were drop dead at the age of 57, during royal dinner at your own place? That would be so shameful, if you get to know this.
After you were gone, your eldest son Dipendra was in the throne. He was announced as a New king. Miserably, within few days, he passed away. None of your lineage were there to ascend the throne. So, your brother; Gyanendra was called to held it up.
None of your lineage being alive, plus family members of king Gyanendra being only injured in that massacre, he ascending the throne, became suspicious to all Nepalese, then.
During his ruling period, insurgency of Maoist was at peak. In order to control that, he took direct power; for he dismissed the prime minister and cabinet. The government and Maoist then, signed an UN-mediated peace accord. Later then, election was called at Constituent Assembly, which agreed to abolish monarchism. Maoist, won the election. The history of Royal rule in Nepal literally turned into no-nothing. Then, Nepal, your country was called as “Federal Democratic Republic” – a formal secular state. You know what, I still have doubts for our country being declared as democratic, so many insecurities, I don’t know why? There are so many questions that overrule my brain, yet no signs for I will get any answers!
Everything, with Royal in it were abolished. You must have been woeful seeing all these?
Sequel of election was like; Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) won the election. Bravo! New systems, new expectations! Various, long speeches were accorded, they would do this and that! But, all went in vain! You must have been happy, seeing a drastic change in countries circumstances till you knew it was all to quench their selfish thirst.
Every now and then, prime minister kept changing. They cared for their personal matter rather than for their people. The country’s deteriorating slowly and gradually with huge political turmoil on store. You must have been very angry with all those cabinets and ministers? They, usually take lot of vows and pledges, and still don’t care about it and respect those vows that they take . They are more acting like a parasites and less like human. Your heart will really shrink if you heard about expense. Those who need it are not getting what they deserve; their basic right is something they are wishing for. And, aid well, no aid to make an actual impact to the marginalized Nepalese.
Your heart must have been broken, seeing this. Was this the future, you wanted to see? Has it been like the Nepal you dreamed of? Probably, not.
Everyone were so busy, quenching their own thirst. It reminded me of you! So, I sneaked myself from that THIRSTY NEPAL to make you aware of what is happening in your place. Is there any way, you can make it back to here? If yes, you are my last hope for this nation and people dwelling in this beautiful Nepal.
By now, you must have been very curious about your essence in here. I will brief you all in next letter, only if you reply to this one.
Your sincere citizen,
